Don “Doc” Woerner
I have been a rural veterinary practitioner in the mid-Yellowstone River Valley of Montana since graduating from Colorado State University in 1968 (57 years). We still own our diverse family business, and three other animal doctors are currently on staff.
Through the years, we have cared for companion small animals, horses, livestock, zoo critters, and wildlife. Most of my career was spent in range and feedlot beef cattle production. I am “semi-retired” but continue to be actively involved in tribal, commercial, conservation bison operations, and facilitating young people’s careers in these fields of endeavor.
An ongoing life goal is to help with the establishment of a large swath of natural public prairie lands in Central Montana, where our United States National Mammal can thrive as wild, tribally co-managed, and publicly owned.
